How does the Primary ITT process work?
In partnership with Durham University, we also support ITT Undergraduate route. Across our alliance, we also help to trainee over 35 trainees every year. As lead school for the alliance, St John Vianney coordinates this on behalf of Hartlepool Primary schools.
For more information on undergraduate courses please visit the Durham University website (www.dur.ac.uk)
St John Vianney Primary School is the lead school in our alliance for applicants wishing to apply for School Direct places. School Direct is a programme where schools recruit trainees directly and select them to train within their partnership of schools.
Our ITT Primary applicants will be able to access a high quality programme in partnership with Durham University and all placements will be provided by our schools, offering the very best training and school based experience. Our trainees follow a programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE.
Trainees will have to pay tuition fees of £9000 for their training but you may be eligible for a tuition fee loan. Loans from the Student Loans company are available for the fees.
